Fishing Rigs

There are only a few skills that you must master in order to properly fish. One is where to cast, the second is to cast, and the third is to have an appetizing bait followed by a successful reel in. This might seem like an oversimplification, but it is a useful way of dichotomizing the different steps in the process of angling. The third step, to have appetizing bait for the fish, is important and making sure you have the right fishing rigs will help to ensure your success.

There are numerous kinds of fishing rigs, but the Texas rig is a good example to start off with. The Texas rig is a method of placing the worm onto the hook so that the hook is nearly invisible and it helps to guarantee a good hook set. Some methods are different within the category itself, so some Texas rigs will use a bullet slip to help hold the end of the real or fake worm in place. The first thing is to place the bullet slip over the top of the hook. The second step is to place the worm through the hook about a half inch down the worm and side it up towards the bullet slip until one end is near it. The third step is to pierce the worm again where the hook is creating two different points of impact, and to hide the hook inside the worm’s body. It is generally suggested that you push the hook through the worm so that the hook can be easily set in the fish. This method is a successful kind of fishing rigs that enable you to customize your bait and ensure success out near your favorite fishing hole.
